Wicked Cellars |
Kevin has long been interested in wine and spent years in home wine-making before a two-year stint with David and Linda Lowe at Wineglass Cellars in Yakima Valley. Next came his U.C. Davis degree in wine-making and then finally the birth of Barrage Cellars.
Why the name Barrage Cellars? Since the winery started out in Kevin's garage before moving to a barn, the name "Barrage" just came naturally.
Barrage Cellars is located in Woodinville, Washington in the Woodinville Warehouse District. They are one of the 27 other wineries and tasting rooms in the district.
You could say that Kevin's the "new guy' in the famous Woodinville Warehouse District, but his first vintage, the 2005 "Alias" Cabernet Franc earned an "Outstanding" from the Seattle Wine Awards as did his 2006 Cabernet Franc "Secret Weapon." His Nuclear Chardonnay received a "Silver" from both the Seattle and San Francisco Wine Awards where his Trifecta Merlot earned "Bronzes" in each event. Finally his 2008 Riesling recently earned an "Outstanding Award of Excellence" from the Seattle Wine Awards.
2008 "Nuclear Blonde" Chardonnay, Conner Lee Vineyard*** pear, pineapple, smooth
2009 Rosi** not your typical rose more like red wine, good drinker, stone fruit
2007 "Trifecta" Merlot, Columbia Valley** deep ruby, currant, black fruit, try some hard aged cheese with it
2007 "Double Barrel" Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley*** red fruit, anise, pencil lead, try some hard salami
2009 Riesling, Yakima Valley*** apricot, peach, citrus, well balance, sweet
Our next stop was Lombardi’s Neighborhood Italian, Everett Washington. Not a big surprise we go there quit often. Lombardi’s has the best happy hour and small plate menu. We shared their roasted garlic and olive oil, seared Ahi tuna carpaccio (my favorite), chicken skewers.

Performing for the release party was Woodrush, Kelly, Jim and Leland weave wonderful harmonies and fun upbeat rhythms. Complimentary appetizers provided Buck's American Café. We have not been disappointed by any of the talent playing at Sojen Cellars this summer.
