We had a special opportunity to visit one of those special lovely spots Cape Cod. What was the occasion? Our high school class chose Cape Cod to hold our class reunion. We all were lucky enough to be in high school in Germany during the 60s. All our fathers served in the military or as civilians supporting our nation during the Cold War. Our reunion location on Cape Cod was located in South Yarmouth. We stayed and played at the ‘Cape Cod Irish Village.’

The following is a testimonial from Larry R our reunion host. We concur with his observation.

“The Irish Village hosted our most recent "Bitburg High School Germany Reunion Classes 63-70". Our group consisted of 43 alumni plus spouses and family members. We utilized the Cape Cod Room as our main gathering spot. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent preparing 2 custom dinners for us, a Cape Cod clambake one night and a German buffet the other. Both were tremendous, as were the breakfasts which were included in the room rate. Jack Hynes, the owner, bent over backwards for us. Many ladies in the group used the Day Spa for manicures, pedicures, facials and massages and were very happy with that portion of the facility as well. Captain Parker's pub claim to fame is their clam chowder. Their clam chowder is what we rate all other clam chowders against. During this visit we must have had around 8 cups of chowder.

On our first day of the reunion. Our reunion group about 30 of us with no reservations descended on Captain Parkers. Many thanks to Scott and the rest of the wait staff. Job well done.
